The research on which this book was based on was supported by multiple
funded projects, including the Australian Research Council (ARC)
(DP140101055, DP180100965), the David and Lucile Packard
Foundation (2014-40093, 2017-65792), the Fisheries Research and
Development Corporation (2014-301, 2017-092) and a Society in
Science Branco Weiss Fellowship (Fabinyi). We also acknowledge the support
of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of
Technology Sydney, the Nippon Foundation Ocean Nexus Center, the
ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies at James Cook University
