Title
Current Treatment for Cleft Lip and Palate
Subject
Cleft Lip
Description
Non-syndromic cleft lip and palate patients have the most common congenital malformation affecting the mid and lower face and compromising aesthetic integrity. This disorder also affects basic functions such as hearing, speaking, chewing and breathing. Treatment of cleft lip and palate patients requires multidisciplinary team work. Children with clefts must be supervised and treated by a team of experts from various scientific disciplines who work well together. Although cleft surgery, orthodontic treatment, and speech therapy are the main disciplines, each of the other disciplines (maxillofacial surgeons, otolaryngologists, speech therapists, pediatric dentists, psychologists, nurses, etc.) are also very important .In this book, we want to present readers with experience and knowledge from several of these disciplines.
