Title
Trends and Challenges in Robotic Applications
Subject
Robotic
Description
Research conducted on robotic applications has grown significantly in the last decade, and today, robotic systems are used for a variety of purposes. To achieve general application of robots, researchers have attempted to study various methods and algorithms in order to properly use robotic systems in many real-life scenarios. Currently, many types of robot platforms are used in various applications, for example dual-arm robots, parallel robots, mobile robots, humanoid robots, aerial robots, underwater robots, and micro/nano robots. In addition, some theoretical tools are specifically used to get robot performance right, for example machine learning, artificial intelligence, multi-agent systems, and control and planning theory. The purpose of this reprint is to demonstrate the current state of robotic applications. In particular, in addition to introducing new theories and methods, this reprint is specifically focused on the application of robotic systems in real-life situations. Thus, the presentation of experimental results proves the feasibility and usefulness of the robotic system in practical cases. Of course, this reprint does not intend to demonstrate in depth all the robotic applications that exist today, but rather to provide an overview of them, thereby revealing the high level of activity in this field. This reprint contains the Editorial, along with a total of 30 contributions from countries around the world, discussing various robotic applications. This reprint is specifically focused on the application of robotic systems in real-life situations.
