Description
The footprint of biotechnological advancements impacts not only science but also our society. Over the recent decades, traditional and emerging technologies have generated ethical concerns and vivid debates, which—in certain cases—have resulted in or need to result in policy changes at the national and/or international level. This Special Issue discusses the ethical, legal, and societal challenges raised by various applications, such as genome editing, genetic testing, gene therapy, organoids, synthetic biology, and artificial intelligence. It highlights the interdisciplinary approach that requires adoption to responsibly address such issues by gathering scholars from medicine, law, genetics and genomics, agriculture, chemical engineering, policy science, philosophy, and environmental and social sciences.
